Following this, Shane spent three years as Director of Corporate Finance at UBS Warburg before moving to Peregrine Capital as a Director. Brandon's financial services experience began in 1993 in market research within NBS Corporate Bank, where he was responsible for sector research and strategy, reporting the bank's lending activities. After the merger between NBS Bank and BoE Bank, he joined BoE Bank Treasury in 1996, where he focused on foreign exchange trading and interest rate arbitrage.

From 2000 to 2003, Brandon managed market risk for BoE Treasury, BoE Securities, and BoE Hedge Funds while completing his CFA. Following the merger between BoE Bank and Nedbank, he was appointed Treasurer (Global) of Seaboard Overseas Limited (SOL), a multinational commodity trading company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. At SOL, Brandon had overall responsibility for optimizing syndicated loan facilities and commodity hedging strategies using CBOT futures and options. In 2005, Brandon was appointed a portfolio manager at Metropolitan Asset Managers, responsible for liability-driven investing of guaranteed annuity products that utilize nominal bond, currency, and interest rate derivatives in multi-asset investment strategies. In 2012, Brandon was a founding member of Saffron Wealth (Pty) Ltd, a hedge fund investment manager based in Stellenbosch, from where he operates today. In 2013, Brandon won the Raging Bull Award for Best Multi-Asset Income Fund on a 5-Year Risk-Adjusted Basis (The Saffron Met Opportunity Income Fund). In 2022, Saffron won the Raging Bull Award for the best consecutive performance of a multi-asset income fund over 3 years (The Saffron BCI Active Bond Fund).
